Watching videos of very dirty cars being cleaned is an eerily satisfying experience, at least as far as this editor is concerned.
How not to be when the end result looks like the operation of a miracle? This is exactly the case with the “dirtiest Tesla Model X of all time,” a car that looked like it had never been cleaned, period.
Not only that, his previous owners seemed to have a knack for throwing out trash, putting poor EV in a mess. When the car reached the aesthetics and restoration specialists at Stauffer Garage, the incredible amount of clutter and grime seemed to be an integral part of its seats and floors.
It certainly seemed like the people who used it went out of their way to turn it into a dumpster. There was sticky stuff all over the place, chewing gum and candy stuck to the seats, food and chocolate on the floor, slime, and God knows what other disgusting things.
If a recruit had shown up for work that day at the aesthetics shop, she probably would have quit right away. Fortunately, these guys are pros and have a methodical approach to their business. They divided the enormous amount of work into several stages, starting with the floors, seats and rugs, door panels and the rest of the cabin.
There was so much cleaning to do that the video was over 31 minutes long, even though it was all time lapse frames.
Either way, the detail work on this X model shows that its interior is pretty resistant to damage. After all the cleaning was done, the cab of the electric crossover appeared to be in perfect condition.
