Rashid Seidu Inusah
Security experts expressed greater dissatisfaction with the government's decision to dismiss the director of the National Investigation Bureau (BNI), citing security concerns.
Rashid Seidu Inusah is suspected of being fired as a result of a lack of coordination between his team and the criminal investigation department of the police, which led to a publication in a pro-government newspaper the week last on the alleged rescue of three girls abducted from Takoradi.
Richard Kumadoe, fraud and security consultant, joined a couple of security experts who expressed their dissatisfaction with the way the head of the investigative office was fired.
In an interview with Winston Amoah on Sunrise's 3FM morning show, he said the BNI was a "sensitive institution" and that the issues surrounding it should be treated with caution.
"We say the president can hire and fire at will, but we need some stability at the top of your smart organization. When this happens, it affects morale, creates inefficiency and efficiency, which undermines effectiveness. Strategic planning will be affected. Longevity is what you need at the top, "he said.
For example, Dr. Aning, director of the Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research at Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Center (KAIPC), was concerned that the manner in which Mr. Seidu Inusah had been relieved of his post was lead to signal errors to his subordinates.
Mr. Richard Kumadoe seems to follow this argument when he pointed out that, even though the President, under the Security and Intelligence Act 526 which creates the BNI, has the power to engage and to to dismiss a director of the BNI, was the need for longevity and consistency.
He explained that it was not good for the security of the country for two successive officials of the investigation to be expelled twice earlier.
