After stepping back in time to the 1590s at the end of the first season (and staying in that time frame for the second season), season three is about to bring the action back to the present day – but that doesn’t mean that we saw the last of the new characters introduced this year.
“We are back in contemporary times. I think it’s okay to say that, ”Cree said.
“I think one of the most exciting things will be that there will be a fusion of some of these characters from 1590 with the characters from contemporary times. So I think it will be exciting to see some of these characters come together.
“From a personal point of view, I’m 400 years older,” he added, “so a lot has happened and [Gallowglass is] a different person. “
Still, the happy reunion cannot last too long – because as fans know, author Deborah Harkness (on whose novels the series is based) has written just three books in the All Soul series, making this third season the end of the story of Matthew and Diana. .
And according to Palmer, the experience of filming his farewell to Diana was “bittersweet.”
“I love watching each character’s journey come to such a beautiful and organic ending,” she told us from season three.
“And seeing Diana at the peak of her magic and just leaning over her authentic self, is such a beautiful part of this season.
“It’s bittersweet – I’ll leave you with that, because obviously they’re based on Deb’s beautiful books, The Trilogy.” This is the third season, and I have about five weeks left with Diana.
“I have mixed emotions,” she concluded.
When season three rolls around, we’re sure plenty of fans will have similar struggles – but at least they still have plenty of episodes to enjoy by then.
