In a gigantic contract that has upset the entertainment industry (and beyond), the announcement was made for the first time in December 2017 that Disney was buying most of * 21st Century, thus spending 52 , $ 4 billion of badets. In other words, on the forefront of horror, Disney has soon Extraterrestrial and Predator.
Note that the agreement has not yet been concluded (this should happen at the beginning of the year), but we wonder what that will mean for the future of the Extraterrestrial and Predator franchises. Will Disney remove all of Fox's adult-oriented properties, or does the child-friendly company plan to allow them to continue under Fox's tutelage? Well, there is hope for the latter.
During a Disney earnings call today, reported by Discuss the movie, "[Disney chairman] Bob Iger announced his intention to keep Deadpool an R-Rated brand and to further include R-Rated film brands in their future product portfolio. "
Geek Vibes Nation adds:Bob Iger said they plan to take advantage of Fox IP once the agreement with Disney + and they are considering other IPs to add to the service to increase content.. "
We still do not know exactly how all this will dissipate, but the good news is that Disney apparently does not seem to have the intention of removing the "harder" content of Fox once they will claim ownership from the studio. One thing we can be pretty sure of, though, is that we've probably seen the last of Ridley Scott's movies. Extraterrestrial prequel franchise, as well as Shane Black's new vision for Predator.
If we had to bet on it, we would bet on the restart of the two franchises by Disney / Fox.
