The National Peace Council (NPC) has given four major political weeks in the two main weeks to present a roadmap to guide the process of militia dissolution in the country.
The leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as well as the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), are expected to meet again after the deadline to discuss the implementation of the road map.
This is contained in a statement signed Tuesday by the president of the AFN, Prof. Emmanuel Asante, at the end of the two-day dialogue on peace that took place at Peduase Lodge, in the East region. Dialogue is the second in succession to facilitate the process of dissolution of militia groups aligned with political parties.
During the second dialogue, civil society groups, as well as stakeholder organizations and institutions, exposed the growing danger of "militantism," reported JoyNews correspondent Kwesi Parker-Willson.

Speaking later on Newsnite on Joy FM, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National President of the NDC, described stakeholder commitments as involving and having succeeded so far. He congratulated the leaders of his party and the NPP for the level of commitment shown at the two-day seminar.
The Leader of the Opposition is committed to his party's adherence to the process and will continue to support the search for a lasting solution to the threat.
Ofosu Ampofo, however, reiterated the party's call on President Akufo-Addo to publish the report of the Justice Commission, Emile Short, which had investigated the violence in the Ayawaso by-election in Accra on 31 January.

According to him, the report will constitute an essential element of the road map that the parties were charged with developing for the dissolution of the militias.
"We say that the President should urgently publish the report on the Emile Short Commission, because we believe that the recommendation of this report could also strengthen our discussion and our preparation of the roadmap for eventual eradication. of the threat of vigilance, Ofosu Ampofo told News Mensch, Evans Mensah.
