The very reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam, Bishop of the Diocese of Kumasi of the Methodist Church of Ghana (GCM), said it was imperative that citizens live and defend the truth at all times.
"We must commit ourselves to defend the truth regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves," he noted.
Rt. Rev. Andam, who was delivering the sermon at an Easter Sunday ceremony at Adum Wesley Cathedral of the CWM, Kumasi, said that it was necessary to preserve the integrity of society and stressed that nothing could be replaced by the truth.
He explained that any nation that would compromise honesty in its businesses would inevitably fail.
The program was intended to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, and the occasion was an opportunity for the congregation to apologize to the nation, to the prosperity and well-being of the people. Reverend Andam asked people to avoid the vindictive and enmity, urging everyone to work for the unity of the nation.
Citizens must show patriotism in the performance of their tasks for accelerated socio-economic development.
