Hundreds of workers from Shaanxi Mining Ghana Limited in Gbane surrendered Wednesday in the streets of Tongo, Talensi District, in the Far East region, and called on the president and regulatory bodies of the sector. not to revoke the license of the company.

Concerned citizens of Talensi had previously called for the revocation of the company's license following a safety noncompliance that recently led to the death of some people.

On Thursday, March 14, 2019, members of the Concerned Citizens of Talensi organized a similar protest to protest against the company and its partners, the mining groups Yenyeya and Pubodtaaba, all located in Gbane.

However, during their demonstration on Wednesday, Shaanxi workers said the revocation of the license would result in the displacement of 641 workers and the business climate in Talensi district.
