"When you use the social media language in your essays, you get the impression that you take things for granted and that you are not serious, except that the language of social media is incorrect," was -he explains.
Mr. Agyei gave advice at a general essay writing workshop organized by the Junior Graphic newspaper as part of the 2019 student essay competition. primary and lower secondary education.

Highlighting some of the most common mistakes made by students in their writing, he added that they should write in the official language, especially in competitions such as the National Test Competition for Junior Graphic Designers and Exams, correctly separate their work and avoid the use of thresholds. or contracted forms of words.
He also asked them not to write more than the number of words stipulated, adding that at BECE and WASSCE, the more they wrote, the more likely they were to make mistakes. "Indeed, when you write more than the number of words required in a test, you dilute the quality," he explained.

He said that this was meant to empower students in their academic work and also help them to improve their previous performance in the competition.
Ms. Mavis Kitcher, Acting Director of Information at the GCGL, urged children to participate in the essay contest because it was intended to help them write essays better than in the past.
Ms. Kitcher, who is also the editor-in-chief of the Junior Graphic, revealed that those who would be leading the contest would have the opportunity to meet the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, with the one whose trial would be considered the best. likely to be sent to the United Nations.
Many JHS students from the Greater Accra region attended the workshop and were enthusiastic about it.
