Is Catherine Tate returning to Doctor Who? Well, no, almost certainly a lot – but it wouldn’t be interesting if she was?
In this week RadioTimes.com The Doctor Who podcast immerses us in rumors of Tate’s return as ex-girlfriend Donna Noble, apparently spurred on by fans who claimed to have seen the actress in Liverpool at the same time as the public filming of Doctor Who with Jodie. Whittaker and John Bishop took place in the city.
Thinking back to Tate’s controversial 2008 exit from the series (and her brief return to the 2009-10 specials), we do our best to understand how such a comeback from Donna would even be possible, while still imagining what kind of scenario could unite the Thirteenth Doctor with his old friend with amnesia.
And after a long period of speculation as to whether the rumors were true or not, a surprise email pops up that just might settle the argument once and for all …
