Married Dolly Parton denied being gay after rumors that she would be secretly in a relationship with her best friend, Judy Ogle.
In an interview with 73-year-old The Sun, married for fifty years to 76-year-old Carl Dean, Dolly said, "All good publicity is good advertising," but that's not true.
She said, "People say that because you can not really have a good relationship with a woman. I'm not gay, but I have so many gay friends and I accept everyone for who he is.
Nothing to do here: Dolly Parton has denied being gay after years of speculation, as she tells rumors that her best friend, Judy Ogle, is her secret girlfriend (1980 photo).
Her true love: Dolly has been married to Carl Dean (pictured) for about five decades.
Dolly has been friends with Judy since childhood, for 64 years actually. She regularly designates her as her "girlfriend" and says that they are like "sisters".
But she compares their closeness to Oprah Winfrey, 65, and her best friend, Gayle King, because they were also falsely linked.
She said, "Well, people like to talk, people love to chat. They said it about Oprah but it's not true.

Dolly and her husband have always kept a low profile and she says she likes to be a gay icon, but nothing more than that.
The iconic singer had previously talked to her husband about USA Today, claiming that he was not a big fan of his songs and that he had only seen her happen a few times.
She said, "He's not necessarily one of the biggest fans of my music. He is proud of me and loves that I love what I do but … it is a delicate subject.
"I'm like his little girl and he's worried about that.
And talking about what makes their relationship work, Dolly gave a preview.
She said, "The fact that we love each other, we respect each other, we always have fun. He's crazy and I'm crazy. We laugh a lot and I think it's the healthiest and most valuable part of our relationship. & # 39;
