The government of Ghana calls on Ghanaians to support the construction of the National Cathedral with a monthly contribution of 100 GHC called Ketoa Biaa Nsua.
In a report seen by YEN.com.gh on Starrfmonline, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta said the goal was to get around one million Ghanaians to help build the religious edifice.
Making the announcement while reading the mid-year budget review on July 29, 2021, Ofori-Atta said the cathedral is expected to be commissioned on March 6, 2024.
“The work on the National Cathedral is progressing rapidly and is following the contractor’s program. The National Cathedral is expected to be officially commissioned on March 6, 2024. When completed, the National Cathedral will provide space for formal state religious activities and symbolize the faith’s enormous contribution to nation building.

He continued: “This state-church partnership envisaged by the president to develop the national cathedral is on track. An initiative ; The monthly GHC100 also dubbed “Ketoa Biaa Nsua” will be launched by the administrators of the National Cathedral on August 12, 2021, to give the greatest number of Ghanaians the opportunity to be a part of the history of the National Cathedral.
He detailed “the goal of the club is to raise one million Ghanaians who would donate 100 GHC per month for the construction of the national cathedral”.
“A special 979 shortcode has been developed for this purpose as we eagerly await Mr. Speaker and all members of this august house to join the GHc100 monthly.”
Meanwhile, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the secretary general of the Democratic National Congress (NDC), said he would not be surprised if the electoral commission proceeded to the by-election.

He said the EC, together with the government, and the judiciary could come to an agreement while the case was still before the courts.
Asiedu Nketia, according to a Starr FM report, said the NDC will stop at nothing to ensure the Cape Coast High Court verdict on the Assin North MP’s dual nationality case is overturned.
