The overlord urged the electricity supply entities, Volta River Authority – Northern Electricity Distribution Company (VRA-NEDCo), to reconsider their boycott of services following physical attacks on their officials by some residents.
“The devastating economic consequences of withdrawing their services should not be lost on them. He therefore calls on them to return to work to alleviate the suffering of the population and their economic activities.”
A recent viral video showing police, accompanying VRA-NEDCo officials on their tours, assaulting a resident accused of engaging in an illegal electrical connection reportedly sparked attacks on police and officials. electricity supply.
The Regional Security Council assured that measures on several fronts were underway to break the deadlock, but the police have since arrested a number of young people suspected of being behind the attacks.
