It started as a normal friendly match between Borussia Dortmund and Udinese of the Serie A championship. Newcomer Thorgan Hazard quickly gave BVB the advantage, but Mario Götze added another shot on goal, Dortmund dominated the match, leaving only a few chances to Udinese. The other goals of Julian Weigl and Julian Brandt effectively killed the match for Dortmund before the interval.
