Former President John Mahama
Former President John Dramani Mahama said that the double-track system of high school free policy exhausts parents financially.
Describing the dual tracking system as a "green-gold light," Mahama observed that parents are under tremendous pressure to raise additional funds to fund remedial clbades in their wards.
More than 400,000 students participate in the dual track system, which is expected to last seven years.
Addressing the delegates of the National Democratic Congress (CND) in Drobonso, in the district of Sekyere Afram Plains, as part of its flag bearer campaign tour in the Ashanti region, Mahama s 39; asked why students should only spend 41 days in clbad using the dual track system.
He said that turning secondary education into a "green-gold light" in the dual-track system could be detrimental to students' academic work.
He is thus committed to ensuring that a new administration of the NDC solves the problems of free secondary education in the country by eliminating the dual track system.
He also promised to build new dormitories, additional clbad blocks and complete all 200 buildings of the community day high school as part of the measures to reverse the dual-track system.
