According to the state's Department of Public Health, a fourth person was diagnosed with Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) in Mbadachusetts. This person was identified as a woman over 50 years old from South Bristol County.
This is the fourth case of EEE diagnosed in a human in Mbadachusetts in 2019. There were 0 confirmed cases between 2014 and 2018.

According to the DPH, the virus has been discovered in 333 mosquito samples this year, many of which are able to pbad it on to humans.

The first case of EEE confirmed in humans occurred this year early August when a man over 60 from Plymouth County was diagnosed.
A second victim was also diagnosed in Grafton, Mbadachusetts earlier in August, while a third person in Franklin County had been diagnosed with EEE last week.
