The health and wellness category has grown so much in recent years, from sustainable snacks to new herbal milks, to a plethora of prebiotics and probiotics to choose from, which can undeniably confuse consumers, says Avena. It is important to clarify these confusions so that people can make the most informed and healthy choices for themselves!
Below, Dr. Avena explains popular trends in nutrition:

2 Long-lasting probiotics are better than chilled. Only two strains of probiotics are storage stable; while different probabilities may be present in refrigerated probiotics. Long-lasting probiotics can be used in other food products, such as granola, butter, soups, etc. Just do not damage the packaging or open the blisters until you want to use them because they are packaged for preservation.
