Dr Solomon Owusu: Political seats are important but let’s think about competence and development

I am writing to urge the people of Hohoe constituency to consider the person who can transform the region, regardless of their political affiliations.

Some people think that I am just an open and controversial person, but I prefer to speak the truth, whoever is in power.

I am not a lawyer but a mining engineer and mining economist residing in Colorado, USA, but I am passionate about the progress of the country and its laws.

I do not support rigged elections, nor incompetence. I therefore ask the judges of the judiciary to ensure that justice is done and that no one is deprived of their rights in order to restore peace and tranquility in the region.

In my opinion, the Hon. John Peter Amewu is the kind of leader Ghana needs to increase the development goals we look forward to.

A unique quality about it is the fact that the honorable minister can easily identify talents, motivate them to flourish and empower them to produce their best for the benefit of the nation.

He enjoys engaging young, smart, and fresh minds to make change. These people are the leaders we need in Ghana for the transformation we all seek.

It’s hard to find smart and honest politicians like his type these days, which is why the people of Hohoe will be lucky enough to have such a tall man as a parliamentarian.

Regarding parliamentary electoral matters, I will suggest that if it is not because of the majority of seats that each of the major political parties is working hard to win, the people of Hohoe should allow Amewu to develop the constituency to their own. square.

I can confidently vouch in terms of the socio-economic transfiguration of the development he can send to the constituency and to the Volta region as a whole.

When he tabled his intention to run for parliamentary seat, he personally informed me via text message asking for my perspective and asked for my unwavering support for a vigorous campaign.

“Solo, I’m from Hohoe and I applied for the seat. What do you think? The campaign will start soon ”. She is a sympathetic person who considers and draws inspiration from both converging and diverging points of view.

Unfortunately I had quit the NPP party but wished him luck and helped him with some campaign strategies, similar to the support I gave to Richard Ahiagbah, the current director of the Danquah Institute when he contested the post of secretary general of the NPP in 2018.

In addition to the Hon. Amewu’s exceptional leadership skills make him straightforward, gentle, flexible, humble, respectful of everyone, easy to use, ready to listen, and comfortable with whom to work.

He is not the kind of arrogant, wise and corrupt ministers that we see in the land. He is successful in everything he does because he uses expert input.

My association with him during my fight against illegal mining (galamsey) when he was Minister of Lands and Natural Resources gave me the opportunity to get to know him better and to learn many positive attributes from him. .

If someone sits one-on-one with the man, the person can easily recognize that Mr. Amewu is thinking of people, especially young people, and that he has good plans for future generations of the nation. .

He always wants to attribute development problems to the right people who can solve them, regardless of their age and political affiliations.

He is always ready to give the opportunity to young people with exceptional talents to put into practice what they can best bring by allowing them to explore, bridge the gap between academics and realities, monitor their progress and d ‘demand results.

The youth of Hohoe are fortunate to have such a great leader who can empower them to grow.

This is the exact leadership style of the great men of the western world and it is the secret of how they overtake us as Africans.

I can confidently state that the Hon. Amewu is one of the leaders in Ghana who puts into practice what he has learned from abroad. He makes good use of his studies and stays in the UK and Australia.

I hope other ministers, members of parliament, MMDCEs, leaders, pastors, bishops and other leaders will emulate his leadership qualities to make our country great.

If the PDS scandal fell under the Ministry of Energy and he was not charged as a minister, then Ghanaians should know what kind of leader he is.

Once again, Ghanaians have witnessed the rapid change and progress it has made in a short period of time in the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in terms of tackling the illegal mining threat.

His dream was to establish a sustainable small-scale mining practice in Ghana, where operators would work in an environmentally friendly manner to create jobs for millions of young Ghanaians to minimize poverty in mining areas.

Unfortunately, he was assigned a different responsibility at the Department of Energy.

In my opinion, if his successors had followed his excellent steps in the interest of the nation, the deputies of the nuclear power plants might not have lost more than 22 seats in the mining areas to their opponents.

I congratulate the Hon. John Peter Amewu because of my personal experience with him, although other people may have their own perceptions of him as well.

I pray that the good people of Hohoe will accept him and work amicably with him if he wins the case.

JP, as he is affectionately known, is a great man for the future of the country.
