On Friday (September 3), the folks at Spotify announced that Drizzy’s new album, Boy in love certified, had broken the platform’s record for most album streams in a single day.
In a tweet that included an image announcing the accomplishment, Spotify wrote, “On Friday September 3, club became Spotify’s most streamed album in a single day.
By beating the record, the 6ix God crushes the one he himself established with his Scorpio album in 2018. This project generated 132 million streams in a single day. Needless to say, this new Drizzy Drake is going pretty crazy.
The announcement came hours after Apple Music announced that Boy in love certified broke their record for single-day album streams. According to Chart Data, it only took Drizzy 12 hours to achieve this accomplishment.
Friday outing, Boy in love certified is a 21-track album that the Toronto rapper had been teasing for almost two years. With skillful flows, melody spurts, nimble puns, and bars that should soon be found in Instagram captions everywhere, the project is the epitome of Drake. It also contains features from Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Future, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, Rick Ross, Lil Durk and more, so there’s a good chance that if you’re into mainstream rap you’ll find something. something you like about the project.
