The Los Angeles Police Department released a dramatic video showing a police officer ambushed by an armed man in April and the subsequent shootings.
The incident occurred after a traffic stop involving another man.
Curley Lee Duff, 39, saw this man being pursued by the police and involved, but it is unclear why or even if they knew each other.
In one part of the video, after driving the police into a residential area, he accused Enrique Trujillo and shot him.

The cop was hit in the leg.
The images are taken from multiple cameras, including the one that he wore on his uniform.
This shows the terrifying moment that Duff ran toward him with his gun pointed and fired several shots.
Trujillo is heard on his radio shouting, "Shots were fired! Gunshots! I am touched in my brother's leg!
He fired back, injuring Duff who then stopped on the ground.
Duff was charged with attempted murder of a police officer.
He remains in detention pending his next court date.
According to the police, Duff has a long criminal history.
