Takoradi, July 29, GNA – A day of training
workshop on road signs and regulations, tires and the vehicle in general
the interview was conducted by drivers and other stakeholders from the western region,
during the weekend.
The workshop, organized by the National Road
Safety Committee, in collaboration with Occupational Safety and Health
Association (OSHA), was "Promoting Best Road Safety Practices"
for all categories of road users ".
Thomas Bismark Boakye, President of the
Association for Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) Ghana, stressed that the workshop had been organized
educate drivers on the need for
observe the signs and maintain their vehicles regularly, all directed towards
reduce the accident rate in the region in particular and in the country in
general.
Boakye warned drivers against caution
that whenever they use the road, they share it with other road users and
must be careful and considerate.
He said that OSHA, which is based in the United Kingdom
the organization, was a partner of the workshop because he appreciated the importance
road safety and the need to educate the public about it.
Boakye urged drivers to always check
their tires, temperature resistance, tread and wear, manufacturing
date, symbol of speed and load capacity of tires before purchase.
He also advised them to try to check
the pressure of their tires, the brake fluid, the oil change, the replacement of the air filter
and merge, check and fill different fluid levels as well as change bulbs
and lights, if necessary, before starting their vehicles.
He warned motorists that they avoid useless
overtaking, speeding and other practices that may put other routes in danger.

pointed out that, by obeying road signs, avoiding overloads and abuses
overtaking were the key to braking the engine
accidents.
He explained that the signs on the road

The participants in the workshop expressed their
grateful to OSHA for the organization of the program and stated that the knowledge gained
was going to be of great use, not only for them, but also for the general public.
