Ras Mubarak
Ras Mubarak, a member of Kumbungu's parliament, criticized an army officer who criticized social media for blaming parliamentarians for supporting the luxurious chamber under review.
A video of the soldier circulating on social networks shows the officer adding his voice to the #DropThatChamber attacking deputies for what he described as egotism on the part of lawmakers vis-à-vis the new proposed room of 450 seats.
Ras Mubarak, moved by the conduct of the officer, wrote on Facebook: "The fact that we wish the room to be abandoned does not mean that we should promote the indiscipline"
"It does not, however, give a uniformed officer the right to behave in a reprehensible manner. He violated the Armed Forces Regulations, Vol. 1, Articles 19, 14, paragraph 2, and 19.36. Before he heard about it, it was the MPs who attacked it first. "
Meanwhile, three members of the Economic Fighters League arrested for protesting against the proposed new 450-seat room were released on bail.
The group leader and his accomplices got a deposit of 2,000 GHC with a deposit.
The fighters led by his leader, Ernesto Yeboah, were demonstrating in parliament during parliamentary proceedings.
The decision to build a new House of Parliament at a cost of $ 200 million sparked a public outcry.
Since then, a vigorous online campaign against the project, dubbed #DropThatChamber, on social media platforms.
The pressure group, OccupyGhana, has also sunk into the raging debate, urging the legislator to cancel such projects.
