Kwesi Appiah Press2 Kwesi Appiah, Black Stars Head Coach

Ghanaian supporters are calling for the dismissal of Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah after Ghana's catastrophic performance at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, which saw the team come out at the eighth finals.

Ghana was eliminated by Tunisia in penalty kicks by 5-4 after the match ended at 1-1 during regulation time.

Most fans were not impressed by Kwesi Appiah's composition, tactical decisions and, most importantly, by maintaining Allamo's all-time leading scorer on the bench in most matches quarreled.

The Black Stars managed to dominate their group to qualify for the round of 16 but the performances presented in the group stage are not impressive, the team drawing against Benin, Cameroon and beating the Minnows Guinea-Bissau in the last group match.

In the round of 16 against Tunisia, the Black Stars conceded the first goal and tied late in the second half thanks to a personal goal that allowed them to send the game in overtime, followed by penalties.

Caleb Ekuban missed his kick, which ended the Black Stars campaign and the 37-year drought against Afcon at this year's tournament.

The poor performance of the team during the tournament triggered a new campaign on social networks, supporters demanding that the coach be fired.

Kwesi Appiah during his first stint with the Black Stars has qualified for the semifinals of Afcon 2013 in South Africa and qualified the team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup ™ in Brazil.

So, some fans feel that he has nothing left to offer to the team and must resign from his post after this disappointing outing.

Hahahaha Akwasi Appiah is too much a coach who trusts a diviner instead of working #DropThatCoach

Tactically bankrupt, I see him as a teacher in ICT and not as a coach.#DropThatCoach

Coach Kwesi Appiah has had enough opportunity to achieve what he can with @ black stars. He should simply advise himself and resign.#DropThatCoach pic.twitter.com/zBmGI0wRKr
