Pbadengers report an air conditioning failure in DXB Terminal 3 but flights are not affected
Dubai International Airport suffered a partial power cut on Monday, leaving pbadengers sweaty after closing the air conditioning.
The system's failure in Terminal 3's occurred just after 11 am and lasted half an hour, said an airport spokesman.
No flight disruption was reported and other terminals were not affected.
"Dubai airports can confirm that there was a power outage at Terminal 3 of Dubai International at 11:04 due to a technical problem," said a spokesman.
"The power was restored within 30 minutes of the outage, with minimal impact on operations."
Pbadengers said temperatures had risen rapidly in the busy terminal, which only handles Emirates flights.
"Air conditioning is not working and it's so hot," said a Canadian pbadenger traveling to London with Emirates The National. She arrived at the terminal at 11:30.
The electricity quickly returned but she said it had taken a while for the building to cool down. "It's still very hot," she said an hour later.
The Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest in the world and welcomes around 90 million pbadengers a year. It serves 80 airlines serving more than 200 cities in 94 countries.
