West Brom's penalty for the Nottingham Forest match at The Hawthorns was imposed for Alexander Milosevic's challenge to Dwight Gayle
West Bromwich Albion head coach Darren Moore said Dwight Gayle's suspension for diving did not take into account the speed and "emotion" of football.
The end of the attack from the striker allowed Jay Rodriguez to save a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
But within 48 hours, 28-year-old Gayle was banned from "twice" for fooling a match official. "
"We are disappointed by that – all I'm looking for is a bit of consistency," said Baggies boss BBC WM.
"In the context of the game, given the speed of the pbad, the emotions and the timing, if we take into account all of this, 12 seconds later, you do not play anymore.
"The video will not give you that. They will isolate the incident, without voice – just replay, replay, replay and the event will be channeled in one direction.
"They will not have seen the angle that I had or the professionals on the ground who understand the speed of the game."
Brief history of football on the "trickery"
In order for the football federation to pronounce a ban on "misleading success", its three-person review committee must make a unanimous decision.
After making that decision in March 2017, the first player sanctioned by the FA was Carlisle United striker Shaun Miller seven months later.
Oumar Nibade of Everton then became the first Premier League player to be punished the same way in December 2017, while West Ham's Manuel Lanzini was also indicted after an incident the following month.
Moore's main concern is how Gayle's case was treated in such isolation, while other incidents of the same nature went unpunished.
"Since the decision was made, if you tell me that there were only two cases, I would say you're wrong," Moore said. "I think there have been a lot of incidents.
"There will probably be an incident this weekend because the game is played at such a tempo, with such energy and emotion.
"We support Dwight with that.
"He has a great appetite for the game. He is excited, he has done wonders for us and we can not wait to see him again for the Sheffield United match."
