President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo called on Ghanaians to reflect on the extraordinary sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross of Calvary and to work diligently for the well-being of the nation.

In a message announcing Easter activities, the president said the season was a good opportunity to reflect on Jesus' sacrifice for the sake of humanity and for the hope that it brings us.

President Akufo-Addo has estimated that the sacrifices made by the nation and the Ghanaians in the last two years "begin to bear fruit and put the nation on the right track".

"This year, our country is expected to have the fastest economy in the world and we are the largest recipient of foreign direct investment in West Africa.

"All our young children are guaranteed a minimum of secondary education, we have an abundance of food and, for the first time in a long time, we export food to our neighbors", he said.

The president continued, "Import duties and utility rates have been drastically reduced to relieve businesses and individuals – thousands upon thousands of teachers and graduate nurses who, prior to my arrival at power, were sitting at home got to work.
