You can eat all the vegan meat you want at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The entertainment complex, located in Orlando, Florida, has expanded its choice of vegan dishes, adding an herbal skillet to the menu at its Whispering Canyon cafe at Wilderness Lodge. The meal initially joined the menu a few months ago as an "on demand" item, but has now been added as a permanent option.
Traditionally, the stoves of Disney offer corn bread, corn, beans and various meats smoked and grilled.
The herbal dish – included in Disney's "all-you-can-eat" meal offer – contains various vegan meats such as spicy sausages, mustard-enamel spikes, a barbecue jackfruit and coated duck bad with vegan herb sauce. Roasted potatoes, corn, sautéed green beans, carrots and charred peppers are also included.
Local guests can also enjoy apple vinaigrette and corn bread, as well as pan-fried quinoa cakes – which can be vegan by ordering without the sauce. The vegan cabbage salad, prepared with a vinegar dressing instead of mayonnaise, is also available.
On the menu, the Whispering Canyon Café features the Impossible Burger, a herbal beef patty that looks and tastes like a traditional burger.
Vegan food at Disney
Anxious to meet the growing demand for vegan foods, Disney is always proposing new options without animals. For breakfast, visitors to Walt Disney World can enjoy a vegan bowl with a JUST herbal egg and Beyond Meat's meatless sausage. The dish is available at the Centertown Market at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
A myriad of other vegan foods are available at Disney theme parks, including Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, which was named the most respectful vegan amusement park in the United States in February.
Dole Whip, Disney's iconic, is vegan and available in pineapple, orange and raspberry flavors. The giant mouse-shaped pretzels, salty, warm and mellow, are also vegan, as are its Mickey-shaped waffles. Okra, pancakes, cupcakes, pizzas, pasta and herbal burgers are also available at Disneyland Park.
Speaking of this award, PETA (the people for the ethical treatment of animals), who crowned the amusement park with the title, said: "Once upon a time, the theme park's food meant hamburgers, hot dogs and turkey legs. Times have changed, so are the menus.
