This decision comes after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) resisted an initial EC draft and accused it of trying to deprive voters of their rights.

The NDC has called for decentralization of the exercise so that it is extended to the level of the constituency, rather than to the 260 district offices.
Donkor Fuseini, former director general of Sekyere Afram-Plains district of Ashanti region, also asked the EC to extend the registration exercise limited to the constituencies of the constituency from Sekyere Afram-Plains because of its difficult terrain. and island communities.
EC President Jean Mensa explained that this decision would allow qualified citizens and candidates located in riparian, remote and difficult areas who wish to take advantage of the registration process to do so.
According to a report from Citinewsroom.com, the EC also announced December 10, 2019 as the date of the district level elections.
This must be done at the same time as the referendum on the election of chiefs of metropolises, municipalities and districts.
