Peter Otukunor, Deputy Secretary General of the NDC
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described as unsatisfactory the findings of the Electoral Commission exonerating its officials deployed for the referendum.
According to the EC, its internal investigations reveal no wrongdoing on the part of its staff despite the circulation of voters engaged in multiple printing of the ballot by the thumb.
But NDC deputy secretary general Peter Otukunor said in an interview that the conclusions were ridiculous.
"They expect us, the political actors, to simply accept the axiom that they do not wear jackets and do not see brown colors, which is why the referendum is not so ridiculous. We are not at all satisfied because we have received a letter from them and we need full clarification on the type of investigation they have conducted.
"They told us that they had sent the case to the police. If the Electoral Commission tells us that, in accordance with their inquiries, they send letters to the district offices to gather the District Director's comments, which will serve as a basis for these conclusions. I will be very disappointed and the NDC will be very disappointed. "
