A new trailer for Ghostbusters: the afterlife is there, and that gives the Ecto-1 a lead role. The Cadillac ambulance has new technology, however, such as a platform that slides to catch moving ghosts.

If you don’t remember the previous trailer, Ghostbusters: the afterlife talks about Egon Spengler’s daughter who is a single mother with two children who moves to a small town because they are broke, and Egon left them a decrepit house. It turns out that a bunch of old Ghostbusters gear is there, and it turns out that ghosts are attacking the town.

This is all set up for kids, played by Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard, to learn about their grandfather’s ghost fighting legacy and give his gadgets modern upgrades.

In the trailer, Annie Potts is seen reprising her role, and the ending teases Dan Aykroyd to introduce himself. The list of actors on the Internet Movie Database also reveals that Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver have cameos in Life after death.

The trailer shows some callbacks to the original film. For example, the mini Staypuft Marshmallow Men disturb Paul Rudd in a grocery store. The creature coming out of a Walmart door looks a lot like the demon dogs of ghost hunters. Additionally, one of the ghosts has a strong similarity to Slimer.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife was originally slated for release on July 10, 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic then occurred. Now we won’t be able to see the film until November 2021. After the polarizing response to 2016 ghost hunters, let’s see if this attempt is more in line with what the fans want.
