Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson, insisted that he would not support Tommy Robinson after posing for a photo with the extreme right-wing extremist.

An image was aired on social media Tuesday, showing Ederson alongside the former leader of the English Defense League Robinson in Manchester.

The picture was published by Danny Thomas, @ RealDannyTommo, and was accompanied by the caption: "Tommy Robinson meeting the city's golden boy @ edersonmoraes93 last night, he has his full support during his stay in Manchester. "

However, Ederson later stated that he did not know who Robinson was, the Brazilian having made it clear that he did not support the political beliefs of this 36 year old man.

When writing on Twitter, Ederson explained that Robinson had arrested him for a photo.

Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is a co-founder, a former spokesperson and a former leader of the English Defense League.

Robinson is also political advisor to UK Independence Party leader Gerard Batten since November 2018.

Brazilian international Ederson has meanwhile opted for English football in 2017 when he joined City from Benfica.
