The latest Wright will take place in Soho
Edgar Wright has revealed more details about his upcoming film – a psychological thriller that will take place in London.
In a new interview with Empire Magazine, the Shaun of the dead and Baby Driver director revealed that his next film will be influenced by Do not look now and Repulsion. He also revealed that the film, co-written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns, will have a female role.
Talk to EmpireWright said, "I realized that I had never shot a film about central London, especially about Soho, where I spent a lot of time over the past 25 years."
He continued: "With Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the dead you make movies on places where you lived. This film is about London where I lived. The filming of the project will begin this summer.
Wright also revealed that he was continuing to work on his documentary on Sparks and suggested that Baby Driver 2 could go ahead. "A first project of Baby Driver 2 exists, he said Empire, adding that the sequel "pushes the story further" by introducing a host of new characters.
The musical success of Wright's success, Baby Driver, was released earlier this year. Baby Driver Volume 2: The Score For a Score presents "Chase Me", Grammy nominated, Danger Mouse, Big Boi and Run the Jewels, as well as excerpts from The Foundations, Boards of Canada, Sky Ferreira and The Steve Miller Band.
Vinnie Maniscalco's "TaKillYa (Baby Driver Mix)" and Kid Koala's "Deborah" also feature exclusively on this collection, as well as selections from Steven Price's unpublished score.
Last year, Baby Driver was announced winner of Zig-Zag's Best Film Award at the VO5 NME Awards 2018.
