Former Arsenal midfielder, Edu, is expected to return to the club as a new technical director, according to reports.

The 40-year-old, who played a key role in the Arsenal Invincibles game in 2003-2004, is currently the overall coordinator of Brazil's national teams.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners consider Edu the ideal candidate to become their technical director after being snubbed by Monchi, who returned to Seville last month.

Edu will join Arsenal only after the end of the Copa America campaign in Brazil, but it seems that the Gunners are ready to wait.

The report also states that Arsenal will also align Brazilian striker Gabriel Martinelli on his first summer signing.

Martinelli, a right-winger who plays for Brazilian club Ituano, is on the verge of signing an agreement with Arsenal.

Last month, reports claimed that Arsenal had offered £ 5 million to this 17-year-old man.
