Security authorities at La Pleasure Beach, Accra, reinforced security of the facility on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 while Muslims were celebrating Eid al-Fitr.
This action follows the recent terrorist attacks in neighboring Burkina Faso and the arrest of a Burkinabé in the Upper West of Ghana with a firearm in a Catholic church.
A security guard, who called himself Abdul, told ClbadFMonline.com that the beach had decided to enhance the safety of the recreation center to prevent any attack while party-goers are celebrating the holidays of Eid al-Fitr.
All those who visited the facility were thoroughly examined for covert offensive weapons before they could enter the facility.
The bags were also searched as part of the exercise.
"I think this is also happening in other parts of the country," Abdul said.
