On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, President Nana Akufo-Addo joined the National Chief Imam Dr Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and the country’s Muslim community at the Kanda National Mosque, Accra, to celebrate Eid-al -Adha.
Eid al-Adha is a feast of sacrifice.
It is one of the two official holidays celebrated within Islam
It honors Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God’s command, but before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, God provided a lamb to be sacrificed instead.
