CHANDIGARH: The swine flu has killed eight people in the last four months in Haryana. A report on six other suspected deaths from swine flu is still pending. In addition, 168 people tested positive for the H1N1 flu during this period.

The total number of H1N1 deaths in 2018-19 in this state is 14.

According to data provided by the Office of the Director General of Health Services (DGSS), the district of Hisar was the most affected, with five deaths and 71 cases. The districts of Bhiwani and Faridabad reported respectively 37 and 21 cases. Jind saw two dead, while the swine flu claimed the life of Fatehabad. Gurgaon has reported four confirmed cases of swine flu until January 16th.

Officials from the health department said the state had registered another six deaths, but their reports are expected. "It's a problem related to weather conditions. We have taken adequate measures. Our directors and the concerned civilian surgeons are constantly following the situation, "said Haryana's Minister of Health Anil Vij.

Since 2012, there have been 97 such deaths in Haryana, with 2015 being the worst year for which 45 deaths and 420 cases were reported.

"We asked the civilian surgeons to make sure they had records for every suspect case in their district. They were also advised to use private institutions, "said a senior official in the Health Department.

At the same time, Himachal Pradesh has notified up to January 15 two deaths due to swine flu in Una district, while 11 cases have been tested positive, including eight in the district. of Kangra, one in Solan district and two in Una district. In total, 72 samples were tested for swine flu.
