The power crisis in Nigeria surfaced in some polling stations, while officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) used smart phone lights to sort ballots.

For example, the headlight of a car was brought to light a counting center.

TV3 correspondent in Komla Klutse, Abuja's federal capital, said poor visibility could affect the results.

According to the model primary polling station Maitama, agents of the various political parties as well as election officials took out their mobile phones to inform the polling center.

But generally, the elections have been described as peaceful by the West African Peacebuilding Network (Wanep).

Its co-chair, lawyer Aisha Abdulai, told reporters Saturday that, despite the deadly violence recorded in some centers, peace reigns in all areas.

Up to now, 33 cases of electoral violence have been recorded, according to our correspondent.

Cases of some people brandishing machetes were also recorded.
