A victim of the Ayawaso West Wuogon partial election shootout has undergone a successful operation, said officers of the 37th Military Hospital.
Lieutenant-Colonel Rex Adzagba, a senior officer in charge of the hospital's medical affairs, said the victim was well and was responding to treatment.
He added that the victim had a broken leg and that he was under observation after the operation.
On Thursday, January 31, 2019, seven people were seriously injured when unidentified gunmen invaded Kwasi Delali Berempong's residence in La-Bawaleshie, a candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliament, in a by-election. 39, Ayawaso West Wuogon.
The victims were sent to Legon Hospital, after which one of them was transferred to the Military Hospital 37 because of the severity of his condition.

As a result of the incident, the NDC withdrew its candidate from the by-election, claiming that it could not guarantee the safety of its members.
However, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, director of communication of the New Patriotic Party, said that the decision of the National Democratic Congress to withdraw from the by-election of Ayawaso West Wuogon would undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
Lydia Seyram Alhbadan, wife of the late Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko, won the by-election with 12,041 votes, or 68.80% of the total valid votes cast.
Mr. Brempong received 5,341 votes, or 30.52%, while Willian Dowokpor of the Progressive People's Party had 102, or 0.58%, and Clement Boadi of the Liberal Party of Ghana, 17, or 0.10%.
