Amos Aboagye, director of St. Anglican Elementary School of the Old Town of Akim Oda, in the central municipality of Birim, in the Eastern Region, has died of death. electrocution.

According to reports, the sad incident occurred Wednesday around 8 am in the premises of the school while he was trying to help two students in the school to use a metal rod to draw water from a well belonging to the school.

An eyewitness told DAILY GUIDE that the two students also suffered an electric shock but survived.

The three victims were transported to the government hospital of Akim Oda, but the director could not survive. His lifeless body has since been dropped off at the hospital morgue pending an autopsy.

According to information gathered, the deceased had been badigned to St. Andrews Anglican Elementary School last year. He left a pregnant woman and two children.

In a related development, the Municipal Environmental Protection Agency was ordered to demolish the well.

Some residents said high-voltage cables had been hanging around the well for some time and still posed a threat to the lives of school staff and students.

At the same time, Birim's central management of education urged the police to open an investigation into the matter.
