Elon Musk will soon launch a unit in China for his underground tunnel business, The Boring Company, announced the billionaire entrepreneur on Twitter.

One of Musk's supporters tweeted that the president and CEO of Tesla Inc. would attend the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai later this month.

Musk responded on the social media platform that he "will also launch The Boring Company China on this trip".

Musk started the Boring Company to build underground transport tunnels for hyper-loop transport systems, which would be much faster than today's high-speed trains and use electromagnetic propulsion.
