The founder and head of Prophet Lion KB Acheampong of the Heavenly Kingdom ministry has tasked President Akuffo-Addo with covering and absorbing the costs of higher education students from the National Cathedral Fund.
Bawku Central MP the Honorable Mahama Ayariga called on Parliament to pass a bill calling on the government to absorb the fees of first-year higher education students.
After three postponements, the Parliament decided to reject the motion presented by Mr. Mahama Ayariga to absorb the costs of higher education students for the 2021 academic year.
Speaking in an interview with Osei Kwadwo of Pure Fm, Prophet Lion KB Acheampong berated parliament for rejecting the petition sent home by Mahama Ayariga.
According to him, “I was shocked to hear some MPs say that the government would pay fees for higher education students would cause economic hardship.”
“In all countries, education is very important for development. In this Covid era, the majority of parents will find it difficult to fundraise to pay for college fees. It is time for the government to sacrifice the National Cathedral fund to support students, ”Prophet Acheampong said.
He added that “the construction of the National Cathedral will even bring division and confusion among Christians”.
“It is better for the government to renovate prayer camps in the country to serve us tourist sites that will help Ghana generate money to support economic growth.
