Kroenke out.

It's on Kroenke and Wenger
Things are not going well in Arsenal.

A team carried by 2 attackers who probably want both out.

Two numbers 10 with combined salaries of more than £ 500,000 a week will be difficult to sell as they would both be turned down by one of the top top 8 clubs because of their lack of consistency.

A mid-field "pivot" that costs more than £ 30 million and can not offer any meaningful form of defensive coverage.

A defense with maybe 2 or 3 players that would be sought after by a top-8 club, including a song of more than 30 million pounds that seems worth less than 10 to 15 million pounds just three years after its signing.

They are losing their only high quality midfielder (and third best scorer) in a free match.

They are losing their attacker and backup guardian at liberty / retirement.

They are probably losing three backs on free transfers.

They are probably losing their third choice, international goalkeeper for almost nothing.

Arsenal seems to have 7-8 new recruits and 3-4 successful promotions in the academies, without having a team capable of competing for the top 4 or a victory in the final of the Europa League … and this, if their recruitment and talent management are up and their stars do not want to go away. Given that:

1) The clubs around them have a lot of money to spend on improving their teams.
2) they let their recruiting manager "Diamond Eye" leave without replacement; and
3) The club claims to have only 40 million pounds, plus the proceeds from sales, to spend in the summer window … things are looking rather bad.

With Wolves and Leicester showing ambition, Arsenal seems to have a much better chance of being in the top 8 than getting back into the top 4.

The most irritating thing for Arsenal fans is that the club had the opportunity to rank among the top 4 but chose not to take it. Kroenke and Wenger refused to invest in building a strong team – they let it rot for an unknown and inconceivable reason, but not for lack of resources as they had proclaimed.

The comparison between Arsenal and the way Liverpool and the Spurs have acted over the past 11 years is a good illustration of this.

During the period 2008-2013, after the transfer of Arsenal to the UAE and the implementation of FFP, the profit before interest and taxes (a good approximation to measure the FFP) was on average every year:
– A positive balance of £ 48m at Arsenal (total £ 289m over 6 years).
– £ 9m positive for Spurs (total £ 54m over 6 years).
– £ 19m in Liverpool (total of £ 114m over 6 years).

This is the period where Arsenal is reportedly not able to invest in his team and fans need to be patient because eventually the new stadium will allow them to compete. With retrospective access to the accounts, these statements seem false. Lies told fans to make them spend a lot of money on tickets while shareholders pocketed everything by accumulating accounts for a sale.

Even if you accept the fact that they could not increase their own funds instead of a debt (which they could certainly have), the average pre-tax profit (which Arsenal could spend freely after repaying any debt) was £ 31m per year over this period. £ 185m over 6 years that could have been spent in the team at a time when it would have had a huge impact.

While Liverpool and the Spurs were investing the best they could, Fiszman et al. pushed the club for a possible sale, at the expense of supporters all finance.

While Liverpool and the Spurs were trying to invest and compete, Arsenal was resting on its laurels and letting the club rot.

Let's see how it paid off for the club. Over the last five years of published financial data (2014-2018), average EBITs were as follows:
– £ 42 million positive to Arsenal (£ 210 million in total over 6 years)
– £ 75m Spurs positive (£ 373m over 6 years)
– A positive amount of 47 million pounds sterling in Liverpool (a total of 236 million pounds over 6 years).

At first, Arsenal seems to be well, but consider three things:

1) Liverpool and Spurs show growth towards positive profitability in a FFP world, while Arsenal shows erosion. Despite huge increases in television money and commercial transactions, their profitability is declining.
2) The Liverpool and Spurs teams (the true value of the clubs) are probably worth double those of Arsenal.
3) During the last financial year, 2018: Arsenal generated a PBIT of £ 79m, which should drop below zero in 2019, while the Spurs recorded a £ 157m and £ 133m PBIT.

The Spurs and Liverpool's investment at a time when they could do it, before FFP became fully operational, paid off. Arsenal's refusal to invest even its own resources, let alone those of its shareholders, has created a hole they can not fill. They are stuck now and I do not see any leadership in the club, from the owner or "management", suggesting that they are able to remedy that.

I am not a "footballer", as Arsène Wenger would say, but I am involved in the finances and strategy of some of the largest organizations in the world. My point of view is: except a miracle of luck in recruiting, like finding the next 1-2 Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar; Arsenal is ranked among the top 4 clubs.

He can never compete again for the Premier League or the Champions League – he allowed himself to be too late at a time when he could easily get things done. As I said, annoying for fans and supporters, but also really weird acts of a so-called intelligent business man. The value of the club is in free fall and Kroenke seems to have no interest in correcting that. It would be a sad event for what was once a great English and Premier League club.

Arsenal collectively must flee … and that will not change
As seems to be the case with Arsenal in recent years, every game seems to have a win-win program all around it, not more than last night. Win and Emery have done miracles, lost and Arsenal are behind and further from the top 4 than ever before.

Once again, the arsenal collectively recovered after a 1-0 defeat and lost the match very quickly. Even at 3-1 with 20 minutes to go, there is a glow …… cleared in less than 3 minutes by a team that refuses to learn and who is without any leadership.

The facts are that, although Kronke is the owner of this team, Arsenal will be nowhere, there is simply no ambition or desire to see a successful and successful football team. Everything below is just fighting against the tide.

This should not lighten the blame of administrators, managers and players. There have been far too many catastrophic decisions over the last five years that could double that time to get rid of and get in order.

Last season, Arsenal bought 5 new players from the first team and, according to my calculations, there are at least 12 left in the first team that are not good enough and have to leave. The club has been badly managed from start to finish, and all this at a time when the financial difference between failure and success is widening.

My wish for next season is to rid this club of high salaries, poor performers. Joe Willock, doing more in 10 minutes than Ozil has done in the last 10 weeks was quite poignant. Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Mustafi, Kolasinac – all high salaries are not performing and must leave. We already know that Cech, Lichtsteiner, Ramsey, Welbeck are on leave. We should also run Elneny, Chambers, ospina, jenkinson – nothing good enough for Arsenal. There is only 70 million pounds per season in salaries!

Unfortunately, we know that this type of revolution will not take place and that in 12 months we will look at Arsenal in 6th position (at best) and say that it is still the same group as last year. Arsenal could finish 17th each season and Kronke would not change anything because the money would continue to be invested in his investment. Indeed, he is the only owner of the entire league not to pay a cent to the club he owns.

I feel a bit empty this morning. Not because we lost in the final, but the way we lost it. Before the match, I thought we would be doing well, with the exception of a Hazard masterclbad, but that was not presented. He was good, but not unplayable.

The first 45 minutes went exactly as planned and, without a goal, it was a good start. But once the first goal scored, you could see the panic in the defense. I have never seen anything like this in any other team before. We concede a goal and the whole team becomes headless hens, leaving room, pushing the men out of position. I really do not understand why, but it continues and it's a tactical and mental problem, and it's up to the manager.

Unfortunately, unlike Conte, his star player was not good. However, here, I think the official was terribly mistaken. We know that it does not show up for big games outside on other tp 6. Why not play Iwobi or Guendouzi who proved that they could mix it up? Especially against a Chelsea midfielder who on paper did not look so scary. This must be the end of the Arsenal road for Mesut F ****** Ozil. What happened?

Kosc can be blamed, but at age 33 and with the injuries he has suffered, he should not start matches of this magnitude. With Mustafi probably starting, this means that our defense, next season, is Sokritis and, hopefully, Holding. There is no academic prodigy to come, so we are in trouble. The return of Bellerin will help, but this is only the 1/4 of the story.

I will not blame Maintland-Niles. In the end, signing Lichtenstein was a big mistake. When we needed a real respite in a position, we had nothing and MN was asked to do a lot. In fact, he did very well against Hazard.

I thought Laca had a good game but Auba was nowhere else. As suggested in your 16 conclusions, it did not have a lot of impact on the game, but it's primarily a poacher and he needs the team to rely on him to function.

Xhaka and Torreira were fine, Sokritis was fine. Cech played well. Monreal was ok. Kola was fine. Not good enough for a final unfortunately.

I do not think everything is dark and dark, but it's not rosy either. I think we need a new defensive coach, everything Steve Bould does does not work. We need 1/2 new CB, the cover in the back, the pace on the wing.

Willock / Nelson / Smith-Rowe can all be promoted to the first team, but we must recruit in the defense.

Now, it's time to pray to those who pray to you that Salah is playing an unplayable game.
Rob A (let's see what our new management team can do) AFC

It was a microcosm of Arsenal's season and, as a result, it was difficult to gather energy to be frustrated about:

– No leader
– No defense
– No creativity in the middle
– lethargic

Even in the first period when we were in control, it was not at all obvious that a goal was imminent. Arsenal has been so informal in attack that construction pressure could be a sign as much as we concede.

Then when the goals were achieved, it was so predictable. Error, goal, balloon given, goal, wrong goal. Oo Iwobi. Ball given, goal.

Sell them all. Ozil and Mustafi, give free where necessary.

And for the love of God, buy some leadership.
Tom, (exiled) Walthamstow

Another clbadic performance of Arsenal. Start well, make some chances that no one really wants to take or score. Cry of penalty. It looks like we concede at the first opportunity of the opposition and we win until half-time. Concede soon after resumption, then melt for the next 10 minutes and the game is over.

Emery needs time to move the dead wood, which will not be easy. He definitely improved the team, but he needs to work on the mindset, to watch Chelsea yesterday and see how they seem to thrive on conflict and pressure.
Jack not in parentheses, thrifty for the weekend.

From a drunk gooner
Hi,

Absolutely tainted on the performance today, however, have managed to make the following observations.

1. Can no longer defend Ozil.
I have done it all my life. He could not take anything against him, still believed in him. But today, Chelsea had Hazar, we had Ozil. I was expecting that Ozil would produce something special, but the difference between Hazard and Ozil could not have been more striking. Ozil has never come. I can not defend him anymore. He was such a great player, I do not know how, if ever he will be the Ozil he was.

2. Arsenal as a whole
I can not believe how well our self-destruct button works. I can not believe how weak we became. Difficult to see an issue. I recognize that Emery has improved the team but has he really put that winning mentality back into the team. They are still turning into tulles in their shells when that really matters. Shy!

3. Huge respect for Oliver Giroud and Peter Cech
If you've heard the comments after Giroud's match, his stifled celebrations and his respect for his old club. He is one of the most underrated strikers in the world and a true gentleman. We need more players like him. There is a reason why he has been omnipresent throughout the World Cup campaign in France. Peter Cech was probably our best player tonight, despite all speculation, he has turned out to be a true professional. Could also see him in tears after the game.

4. Young people.
As a team, we may need to see more young people next season. Those who, instead of making crises, can show their hearts to give everything to the club. Ramsey will be so hard to replace because of his heart and not his legs. We must not see disappointed faces towards the end, but angry faces. Faces angry at the performance of their heirs, faces angry with their own lungs, their minds and their hearts. Faces that tell the opponent that you may have had this one but God will keep you next time.

5. The owners
I do not know how long before alienating the fans, the players and the club. Our management tells us that the owners are pbadionate. Bloody show it for once. Introduce yourself to some of our matches, be with the team after such a match. Take your share of the blame, be honest with the fans. Just tell us that you will do everything you can to bring this club back to life. Be there to give at least emotional support to fans. Say that you will never be satisfied with mediocrity.

I hope that the club will strengthen this summer, perhaps not with expensive players, but with pbadionate, committed, eager and motivated players to give their all to win the next game at the training and on field.

Cheers,
Arsalaan, India

A conclusion
No 16 conclusions necessary … just not good enough and no real indication that a good part of this team is capable of more …

Liam …

P.S. we sold it, you know … apparently not enough … yes, he … you know who I'm talking to

Eurghzil
I want to complain about his performance, but honestly, I can not say anything about what he did during the match.

Not that he was worse than the other players, but as your best paid talent / the biggest, they should have an impact on a game, whether it is good or bad.
Jason, chorley gooner.

What is the meaning of Ozil?

Joe Willock was more effective than Özil last night.

After defending his interests for so many years, finally see that Özil is one has been. Low on the ball, impossible to protect. To attack, the interceptions have never been his strong points. The defensive work rate is 0. So, mediocre mentality with 0 grain. The ball is average. The distribution on the channels is a mixed bag. The work (control, creation of chance) in restricted spaces fell off the cliff. He is capable of magical moments, but these separate more and more. He is in a fast downward spiral and is close to past success. With nothing to prove, do not think he really wants to bounce back. Özil may have his moments in the future, but it's time to say goodbye.
Harish Rajagopalan, AFC, India (Congratulations to Chelsea F. C., also #Pray_for_Neasamani)

Looks like Willock is worth the £ 350,000 that Arsenal pays him. Ozil should be sent on loan to gain experience.

Pathetic
What a pathetic and anomic show on the part of so-called professional footballers, it was enough for Chelsea to win, he needed an ability to play football counter-attack. Ozil, was it too late in the night for you to even try to run? It does not matter who is responsible for the DNA = more loose!
Unhappy gooner

Bravo Chelsea. Arsenal had a chance, but Chelsea exploited our weakness (Maitland-Niles, his mistakes gave Chelsea 3 goals). Also, slow applause for Ozil who could not have walked more slowly when they were replaced.

Only as strong as the weakest link, and we have some weak links.

A mystery wrapped in an Iwobi
Can Arsenal fans explain Alex Iwobi? I've seen him play about a dozen times and I still do not know if he's good.

Last night, he entered as a submarine, immediately flayed a midfielder and got a free kick in a dangerous position, thus getting a booking from the Christensen player. Then he scores the free kick, giving his team a chance to play and … does not seem to touch the ball for the rest of the match.

Seriously, what is his crazy?
David, Sunderland (Willock has good prospects if he learns to draw ideas)

It's not all bad
Chelsea were the best team in the second half and deserved to win, especially for the superb Eden Hazard. Over the years, he has tortured Arsenal and, although I am happy to see him go, Real Madrid will benefit an outstanding footballer.

We are clearly a team in transition and need more money from our silent owner to improve the quality and defense of the midfielder.

The director, Unai Emery, has done a great job and deserves more time to improve, both tactically and competently. His coaching and support staff have been great and do not deserve a small share from Arsenal Legends, such as Keown, Wright, Adams, Petit, although entitled to their views; together do not have the management skills needed to manage at this level.

We are clearly where we belong, so leave us behind the team after wiping a tear and recognized our strengths and weaknesses, support the team to go again.

Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemistry …
Dear mailbox,

I just watched the final of the Europa League, here are some thoughts:

This stadium seemed really empty and sounded hollow. A shame for such a great occasion (a cup final is always a cup final).

The sale of Giroud to Chelsea by Arsenal must be considered the worst mistake in their history. Giroud would have been an excellent plan B during the strike years Sanchez and Walcott. He would even be happy to be part of a rotating team. It would undoubtedly be the perfect flagship for Aubameyang and Lacazette, while providing a Plan B and an option for different formations, the ideal team player if you want, and Arsenal certainly needs it. I mean, sell Giroud because you want Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott to play forwards with Welbeck as reinforcement? Really?

Has Cech ever had a convincing match with an Arsenal jersey? Certainly not at major games because he seems to have finished at the highest level since his last years in Chelsea, when he was moved by Courtois. Szczęsny may not be a world drummer at the moment, but selling it to Juventus to buy peanuts must be ranked # 2 among the worst mistakes Arsenal has made in recent history.

What happened to Ozil? He does not even look like 10% of the player that Arsenal saw in his first season with them, and even then he was inconsistent.

I think the Arsenal formation did not work tonight. True, in the first half, their plan worked and they managed to contain Chelsea's threat relatively well. But that's all there is to it, they have no plan for the future and the midfielder has been bypbaded too easily. I think a 4-3-3 would have worked better, but Emery probably could not deploy this strategy effectively from the start with the staff he had at the time.

I have no doubt that Ramsey and Mkhitaryan were forgotten in the final, but I think even with them available, this Arsenal team would have been overrun and surpbaded. This Arsenal team simply can not handle the setbacks, it reacts to the backhands of the game with nervousness, panic and despair. Something must change.

Koscielny has begun to show signs of rapid decline and Sokratis is also not quite solid. Do not even mention Mustafi. Oh, I miss him now, I hope he and Bellerin will recover quickly when he comes back from injury.

I may be wrong, but Kepa's trip to Lacazette was certainly a penalty, maybe a map too. The fact that the referee made his decision without any help was suspect.

It is a well known fact that Xhaka is a slow and impulsive player. He also has a terrible match awareness and produces mistakes like rabbits in heat. He now seems to have a new aura that inspires extreme panic to his teammates. Get rid of him. Mustafi could have been a better buy.

Aubameyang is a talented athlete and finisher. But that's all he is. He does not seem to have the kind of magic star that players tend to produce when their team needs to do it. Hazard does exactly that for Chelsea. The same goes for Pogba for Man Utd when he can be arsed. Or Salah / Sane / Firmino / Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool. And Son / Kane / Eriksen for Spurs. Even Rondon in Newcastle. Aubameyang needs his team to help him perform, and when his teammates are in a desperate situation, he lets himself be dragged along.

Lacazette, meanwhile, seems to have the potential to become the type of key player of each top team and which Arsenal needs. Ozil and Sanchez were supposed to become these players, the first may have fallen into a sort of bizarre vanity and the last left for greed. Please, do not make another mistake by leaving Lacazette to leave.

Iwobi's shot to get back to Arsenal was easier, I wonder why he did not start, because he was much more effective than Ozil in his short appearance.

Even if it is not at the level of Man Utd, it seems to me that this team of Arsenal is quite unbalanced and requires an important surgical intervention. There are just too many players dead / in decline / who do not fit the vision of the manager of his team. Hoping that the committee can support Emery for some windows and allow him to build a team in his image, otherwise he will always have both hands tied in the back.

Oh, did I mention that I'm a fan of Giroud?

Yours sincerely,
Rage

Chelsea played too …
What a performance we put on last night! If this was our last match for Eden Hazard, all I can say is thanks for the memories and your commitment to our club.

The first half was pretty bland, but we came out full in the second half, we finished our chances and even after Arsenal withdrew one, we did not collapse, we took fourth place, so proud of the team, especially with all the injuries. we have had.

3 European trophies in 7 years is something special.
Mikey, CFC (What an amazing Iwobi too)

Another season, another Chelsea trophy! Is there another football club that takes so much pleasure in throwing the bird at anyone who even tries to badyze it rationally?

You think Chelsea is in the running for the title? Watch us melt and implode dramatically!

Do you think Chelsea will not qualify for the Champions League? Watch us finish third and win the Europa League!

Many speak of the lack of features or styles that may explain the type of Chelsea club. Well, that's the kind of club we are: we win trophies.

All this happens in the midst of chaos: speculation about the players' departure, the manager, a senior player publicly broadcasting his dirty clothes, a junior player refusing to leave the field after being replaced, the media claiming the head of the manager, a Supporters section boo the manager, etc. And so on.

Some say that Chelsea works because of chaos, random variables aligning in the right way at different times, leading to trophies and fame.

For my part, I believe that we thrive despite the chaos. And so, I hope that Sarri will stay and that in a year or two, Chelsea will be back home, competing for the title.
Preetish, Munich (Or a spectacular implosion is in the works and Lampard called and we win the Champions League only to send him back a few months later, you never know)

"Chelsea, even at a point of absolute triumph, is disconcerting"

This line drawn from today's 16 conclusions has made me smile and that's why I love this club.
Nanmaran

At least Rob Green and Gary Cahill seemed to be having fun.
Mark (Hrochot, Slovakia)

Sarri (not Sarri)
You can not argue with her. Even though the fans have been against the manager all season (I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm not able to judge as a Liverpool fan). All that concerns Callum Hudson Odoi going to Bayern, Hazard could start a transfer ban; The Abramovich era has another trophy and the hidden face of this game is all that is written in the history books and all that is relevant when talking about years later.
Ryan, Liverpool

I would just like to say to the haters of Sarri: (a) you were wrong and (b) you are drunk.
