The missing plane, which carries Cardiff striker Emiliano Sala and pilot David Ibbotson, was found.
On Sunday night, the investigators said they located the wreck on the seabed of the English Channel and informed the families of the pbadengers on board.
Sala had just completed his move to Cardiff in the amount of £ 15 million when the plane carrying him, as well as the Ibbotson pilot, disappeared on January 21 over the English Channel, after leaving Nantes for the Welsh capital.
After rescuers and the Guernsey police canceled the official search, Romina, Sala's sister, organized the GoFundMe page, which allowed for a private search and eventually found the plane.
"The wreck of the plane carrying Emiliano Sala and piloted by David Ibbotson was found early this morning," said marine science specialist David Mearns on Twitter.
Mearns said that the British Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) had moved his vessel to the position her team had located to visually identify the aircraft with the help of a remotely operated vehicle.
