The defender said his team was struggling after the disappearance of the attacker

Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba revealed that some of his teammates were afraid to fly after new recruit Emiliano Sala, who was missing while he was on board a plane.

It is still unclear where Sala, the club's record rookie, is after the disappearance of a Piper Malibu plane en route to Cardiff from Nantes on Jan. 21.

Sala went to the Welsh capital after bidding farewell to his Nantes teammates before the plane disappeared without a trace. The Guernsey police stopped the search on Thursday.

Reflecting on this heartbreaking situation, Bamba told BBC Sport Wales: "It is very difficult to describe what the players feel.

"It's a very unusual situation, a great tragedy, we've all been affected, guys, the city, the whole club.

"We received help. We take the plane and some guys said, "I do not want to go anymore.

"It was so deep, the gaffer was good and the club was good to bring someone to talk to if we needed it."

"And I think some guys are doing it, they need to get it out, so I think the club and the gaffer have thought about it and we hope that in the coming weeks we will feel better."
