Emily Atack and the public "locked up" in the Birmingham theater in the middle of machete reports

The star was at the Old Rep Theater near Station Street on Thursday night for her Talk Thirty To Me.

But the show ended dramatically. The actress and her fans were reportedly locked in the room while police responded to reports of machetes outside the room.

A member of the public said, "They kept us in the theater for an hour.On-site police incident – two guys with machetes."

However, officers arrived at the scene around 9:35 pm, but found no evidence of "suspicious" activity.

After the incident, Ms. Atack tweeted: "Birmingham … I can not tell you how much you did my first show.What a wonderful audience.I laughed (and almost cried) with all of you.

A large part of the audience and Emily's fans went on Twitter after the incident.

In response to a tweet, the Old Rep Theater said, "The safety of our guests is our number one priority.We hope you have a good night.I hope you will be home safely."

A spokesman for the West Midlands Police said: "The police received a call at 9:35 pm last night regarding an unconfirmed report that people with machetes were in front of the Old Rep Theater at Station Street. Birmingham.

"The officers attended and there was no trace of suspicious activity."
