Emmerdale star Leah Bracknell revealed that she was "tired of living with terminal cancer."
The actress, who played Zoe Tate in the soap opera for 16 years until 2005, says she does not want anything more than feeling "normal again".
Leah was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2016.
In a new post on her blog, Something Beginning with C, Bracknell explained how she felt "locked in a cage" because of a number of illness-related issues that had an impact on her life.
She wrote that she felt guilty of "complaining and complaining" about resuming her life, because she understands "there are people living in much worse conditions than those I live in".
She added, "But that little part of me that is sorry for myself just wants to be seen and heard.

She added that she wanted to be able to "do some simple things again", like driving, walking and breathing, and that she did not want to have to plan her life based on appointments at the school. ;hospital.
She described the last time she felt "normal" last October, when she went to Devon to see friends before traveling to Brittany in France with her husband Jez Hughes.
Remembering the trip, she said, was a "joy, the pleasure of going out, worries pushed back in my mind and the pure happiness of normality".
However, when she returned to the UK, she was immediately admitted to London Hospital before being readmitted to another facility closer to home a few days later.
In the blog, Bracknell explained that she had had more physical problems at the spine due to cancer, which she had had to do "out of necessity, absolutely nothing" during the Christmas period.
She then stumbled over her laundry, a pain that she equated with childbirth and that she had not "cooked a meal for months, nor did she do laundry, nor did she clean up, nor did she clean up shopped ".
Bracknell, who is also a yoga teacher, recently said she recently had a "vision of normalcy on the horizon" before an anomaly about her heart was discovered, thus putting her treatment on hold.
The TV star confided that she had given herself as a challenge to share her experiences so as not to feel lonely in her journey and to help others.
"It's an unexpected cathartic process," she wrote.
