Avengers: End of the game Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote a meeting between Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and a corpulent Thor (Chris Hemsworth) that would have occurred when he returned to Asgard in 2013.
"Once we understood the kind of track on which we wanted Thor to be, he was really going to collapse – as one of us probably would – that the only person who could ride him [would be Frigga], Revealed Markus at San Diego Comic-Con.
"We did write a scene with him and Jane, but Jane is not the person who put it together. Odin is not the person to wind it up. Really, it's only his mother. And we could not run him, take the stone, and go talk to his mother – it would take a lot of time. Moreover, we never know how the ether turns into stone, no one has ever seen it happen, it happens. "
Instead of showing Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) as Reality Stone – then integrated into Jane's body – the authors chose to let the cunning Guardian of the galaxy perform the tricky task on screen.
"It seemed to be going for decorum, maybe it would be better not to use Jane Foster," McFeely said.
A scene shared between Jane and Rocket has also been abandoned. She would have used the scientific training of the astrophysicist and simply asked for her cooperation.
"It was very satisfying, and I thought everyone was fine," said Markus, "but we had a film of three hours and a few days and it's better to leave some things [out]. "
Markus and McFeely already said The Los Angeles Times they have not revisited the often denigrated Dark world to try to correct his reputation, explaining that they came back at that time because "it's exactly where was one of the stones".
"This second act comes back in the other films and finds the stones. Apart from a brief moment when he was with Benicio del Toro at his collector's museum, it was in Asgard during the film. And we had already seen Benicio del Toro in[[[[War of Infinity]Said McFeely.
Instead, the writers opted for an emotional closure of Thor with his mother, the Frigga killed (Rene Russo).
"We knew we wanted every journey undertaken by the heroes not to be a stone path, but also an emotional resolution," said Markus.
"Thor's agitation was really [eased] meeting with his mother. And it was a very emotional moment, as she dies later in the day. So we were able to get the stone and look for the resolution we needed. "
Hemsworth and Portman will then resume their respective roles under the return Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi in Thor: love and thunderwho sees Jane exercising the power of the mighty Thor. Marvel Studios publishes this image on November 5, 2021.
Avengers: End of the game is available at Digital HD on July 30th and at 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 13th.
