The record event of this year's superheroes featured many, a lot characters from the Marvel cinematic universe. Among them was Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who had one of the most intriguing (and heartbreaking) bows. Now, a deleted scene of Avengers: End of the game reveals his destiny. Read on to find out more – and of course, spoilers for End of Game are abundant.
The story of the character
Fans will remember their first encounter with Gamora at Guardians of the Galaxy (published in 2014). When we meet her, she fights with Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Rocket and Groot about the Orb, who will later turn out to be the Power Stone. After escaping from jail with them, they all team up reluctantly in the hope of holding Power Stone away from Thanos (his adoptive father), a Kree named Ronan, and his sister, Nebula.
In The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (released in 2017 but taking place very soon after the first event), Gamora is experiencing even greater growth. She forms a love affair with Quill, reunites and reforms Nebula and, basically, keeps the crew together so that he can escape the clutches of Ego, the celestial.
Gamora and Nebula were an essential part of War of Infinity
Given its ties to Thanos, Gamora played an important role in the story that unfolds in Avengers: war in the infinite and End of Game. In the first, Thanos takes it to the Guardians and blackmail it to show him where the Stone of the Soul is, before sacrificing his life to get it. This leads Quill to make a serious mistake, which leads to Thanos' final victory and 'breakup'.
In End of Gamewe do not see the late Gamora. However, Nebula dates back to 2014 in order to recover the Power Stone before Guardians use it. Thanos discovers her and returns the 2014 Nebula in 2023 so that she can take her with her. There, she is seen fighting with both of them before killing the 2014 Nebula and turning Gamora against Thanos.
Here is the scene in question
After the 2014 reform, Gamora (hereinafter simply called Gamora) fights alongside Nebula, the Avengers and all the other fighters in the second battle against Thanos. However, we never see her after her battle scenes. Fortunately, a new scene removed from the extras Blu-ray reveals what happens to him.
After the disappearance of Tony Stark, we see many of his friends, starting with Hawkeye, take a knee in the honor of the fallen hero. Meanwhile, a photo of Gamora stands alone. She sees what is happening and leaves – leaving those who know (or at least know) to have their moment.
What does it mean for Flight. 3?
After Stark's funeral, the Guardians (and Thor) are about to leave the Earth. Quill has a mission in mind: to find this new Gamora, in the hope that she too falls in love with him. So will this be the plot of The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
It's hard to say at this point. It's good to know that Gamora is somewhere. We badume she'll find a way back into space, and that's probably what Quill counts on. However, little is known about the film at this stage, but its release date will be no earlier than 2022. It has not even started pre-production yet, the director reinstated James Gunn ending his film Suicide team first. We must wait a long time before knowing where Gamora went.
