The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, is reported to have invited Engineers and Planners, an independent mining company, to launch commercial mining of bauxite in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo).

President Tshisekedi reportedly issued this invitation when he met with the chairman and CEO of the Bureau of Engineers and Planners, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, last Saturday in Abuja, during a working breakfast. organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) to discuss investment opportunities in DR Congo.
President Tshisekedi would have congratulated Mr. Ibrahim Mahama for his considerable efforts in the mining sector in Africa.
Mr. Ibrahim Mahama accepted the invitation and promised to give up the best of what he is currently doing in Ghana and in other African countries.
President Felix Tshisekedi's vision of attracting foreign investment from indigenous African companies to develop the country's mining industry has been welcomed by stakeholders in the mining sector in Africa.
In a recent speech to the US House, he said that he would be "watchful" for the grievances of miners and called for "win-win" applications of mining codes and the awarding of mining concessions to African and non-African mining companies. .
The DR Congo is the second largest country in Africa by its area, the 11th largest country in the world and the 16th most populous country in the world, with a population of about 86.5 million. ;inhabitants.
The country is the world's leading supplier of cobalt, battery ingredient, and a key source of minerals such as gold, copper and others.
