MILAN – Eni made the fifth oil discovery in a year in block 15/06, in Angola's deep offshore. The well was drilled in the Agidigbo exploration prospect, and post drill badysis indicates between 300 and 400 MMbbl of light oil in place.

The agidigbo-1 NFW was drilled by the Gemini West drill depth of 275 m and reached a TD of 3800 m. It has turned out a unique hydrocarbon column consisting of a gas cap of about 60 m and 100 m of light oil with an oil up to. Hydrocarbons are contained in lower Miocene sandstones with good petrophysical properties. The discovery still has benefits that will be proven by an evaluation campaign planned for early 2020.

Due to its proximity to the East Hub facilities and the submarine network, which are approximately 10 km away, Agidigbo's production can be accelerated, expanding the FPSO Armada Olombendo production platform.

Agidigbo is the fifth commercial discovery since the Block 15/06 joint venture relaunched its exploration work a year ago. He follows the discoveries of Kalimba, Afoxé, Agogo and Ndungu. In total, the five discoveries would contain up to 1.8 billion barrels of light oil in place, with room for improvement. These new discoveries further confirm the exploration potential of the block and the effectiveness of the exploration skills and proprietary technologies used by Eni to fully exploit the region's potential.

The Block 15/06 joint venture consists of Eni (operator, 36.8421%), Sonangol P & P (36.8421%) and SSI Fifteen Limited (26.3158%).
