The EQS should be powered by two electric motors – one on the front axle and the other on the rear – providing a permanent all – wheel drive. Mercedes confirmed that the EQS system would be produced at its main plant in Sindelfingen, a suburb of Stuttgart. It is the third German factory to produce an EQ model, with the construction of the EQC in Bremen and the EQA in the compact car factory of Mercedes in Rastatt.
An additional EQ model, probably an GLB based EQB SUV positioned under the EQC, will be produced at the Smart plant in Hambach, France.
